I had always known that “the middle way” was what the Episcopal Church followed — Elizabeth I said that she would not make windows into men’s souls” and that is the source of our “bridge” status between Catholics and Protestants. It is wonderful toward from you some of the other sources of that wisdom. I am a great believer in bridging gulfs with similarities. Thank you. P.S. My uncle Santa’s a soloist at the Reform Synagogue in my home town for 50 years. Our Episcopal priest that the Rabbi there were both doctors as well as good friends. We occasionally traded services between our church and the synagogue. I am forever grateful to have been introduced to Judaism as the foundation of our Christian ideas. too bad idiots intervened for too long and allowed such stupidity as was practiced on the Jews over centuries.
