This was great! I didn’t realize how full of anger the Book of Esther was… :) insightful and entertaining read!

Hi Dan, Thank you for alerting me to your writing here. This piece is excellent, and I read a few others as well. I am sending you my very best--

This is cool, Dan. I had a great English class in high school that explored the Bible as literature.

Here’s my take on this: “So, which is it? Does anger make us more powerful and capable of getting things done? Or does it make us less powerful and less effective?”

I’m trained in Energy Leadership, which is a system of 7 energy levels. We’re always looking at the world through one of those levels and that impacts how we see the world (like changing the lenses in our glasses.) The whole point of the system is to show us that we always have a choice in how we show up.

This anger that you describe falls in level 2. It’s the most common level in our society. It’s about anger, my way of the highway thinking and a perspective of “I win” and everyone else loses. It’s a very effective way to get things done, but 1) it’s not sustainable and 2) a person in level 2 acts like a jerk so they’re not respected or making any friends.
